2003 - Koh Sa Mui, Thailand
27 July 2003 - 01 August 2003
Zazen Bungalows Resort
During our stay in Koh Sa Mui, we called "Zazen" home. Built over 25 years ago, Zazen is a Chinese-owned and family-run business. Tony Tutong (Zazen's Manager) tells us that the family still resides on the island and lives in the Big Buddha (northern) area of Koh Sa Mui.
Upon arrival at Zazen, we were greeted by complimentary, freshly blended mango smoothies and ice-cool face towels. Porters ushered us to our clean and rather spacious Gardenview Standard Bungalow (pictured below). At 1400 Baht (translates to about $35 USD) per night (inclusive of breakfast), we felt like royalty during our entire stay at the resort.
With its facilities including items like a tropical swimming pool, beach front dining with awesome views of local
fisherman departing and arriving with fresh catches of the day, an open-aired Lounge bar, unlimited complimentary rounds of
either pool/snooker or fooz-ball, and jeep/motor-bike rentals on site, it is no wonder we spent so much time hanging around the resort and soaking in that fun, sun, and much-welcomed rest and relaxation.
