Our Honeymoon - Kauai, Hawaii

We decided to spend our very first Fourth of July together as a married couple with the rest of the Kauai inhabitants at the Annual Concert in the Sky Event, held each year at the Vidinha Stadium in Lihue, Kauai. The annual event (pictures below) which draws over 8,000 people (both local and tourist) each year, is one in which a stunning display of fireworks, local food, crafts and live entertainment are provided in celebration of our nation's independance.

With mouth-watering food provided by generous restaurants, music provided by local Hawaiian bands, and many other events taking place throughout the day, this event was definitely a festive way to celebrate the fourth! Tickets only cost approximately $10.00/person ($7.00/person for advanced purchase). Proceeds from this annual festival went to benefit the local hospice.

The event was so exciting and exhausting, that some people (Paul included) had to take a nap before the fireworks show began later that night.
