![]() 2004 - Bali, Indonesia 20 November 2004 - 25 November 2004 Day 3: New digs and free fruit The next morning, we packed our bags and hauled them next door to the Sheraton Laguna Nusa Dua, rated among the top 3 by Tripadvisor. After having spent two nights at the Westin (next door) and two nights at the Sheraton, we think that Sheraton gives you a better return for your dollar by far. We had ants in both our first and second rooms at the Westin; the A/C did not work properly in the second room at the Westin. The staff and rooms at the Sheraton are excellent. Paul told them we were on our honeymoon and as a result, they made special arrangements for our room (pictured below) and pampered us with a large dish of heart-shaped chocolates, a vase of fresh roses, rose petals in the shape of a heart on the bed, rose petals in the bathtub, and a complimentary liquor nightcap for two. Now THAT is service. The Sheraton also offers 24 hour butler service with complementary freshly brewed coffee any time of the day (a plus by Paul's standards). Fresh fruit (oranges, apples, etc) are also available in the lobby (free of charge) all day/night. While patroling the halls one early morning, Paul spotted some innocent-looking mystery fruit sitting on a silver platter outside someone's doorway which he promptly swiped after making sure no one was around. Paul's pirated booty is pictured above. After enjoying Paul's free fruit for breakfast, we hopped onto the scooter and made our way towards Denpasar and found the Bali Mal Galeria, a huge mall located at the large roundabout on the outskirts of Kuta where we stopped to have a quick local-style lunch at a waroeng (food stall) located on the second floor food court. It was difficult trying to read the signs to pick our our lunch meal, but luckily for us, the waroeng had pictures of the dishes next to the menu (pic below), so we were able to point to what we felt like eating.
