Central Mountains
Being the adventurous explorers that we were, we tried to see if we could perhaps invent shortcuts to scooter from one side of the island to the other. On several occasions, we tried different off-roading, unmarked paths to see if we could successfully reach our goal.

Although we ultimately failed in our quest to find the secret, hidden paths through the island, we did managed to amuse at least one curious Thai local (pictured below: puppy) who seemed to know that our attempts would end up in utter (but fun) failure.

We found it difficult navigating through some of the more mountainous terrain (as Paul demonstrates below as he hesitantly, but successfully scooters up a rather rocky/slippery area of the inner mountains). In our defense, we found the posted signs (pictured below) to be of no help whatsoever. (Reason being: the signs were posted in Thai and neither of us could make either heads or tails of what the signs said.)
